Troglodyte Escape

August 20, 2005

Saturday evening.

Stopped, into another room.

Fleeting glimpses into a realm beyond;

let me see.

Let me see so much more.

In my headphones,

"Have you ever wondered?

... where to dream is to believe

...Take me there

Take me there

So I can fly."

Excerpts from Infinity
Mouth Music,
CD: Shorelife
Rykodisc, 1995

dreams

imagination

vision

release

creativity

joy

And later

by chance my daughter read to me,

To see a World in a Grain of Sand,

And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,

And Eternity in an hour.

William Blake

I have no idea what this means

but I like the language.

I don't understand it,

but I cling hopefully to the words.

In letting go my goal to understand

maybe I can dream, see, fly.

I live

I long

I starve.

I breathe

I hope

I search.

Close my eyes,

that I might see.

My empty stare holds on an unfinished print on this bedroom wall.

It's time to return to it.

It's time to join

them.
